Nothing about it being in Vray in another program is going to affect its useability in C4D. Get the file in, and you're going to have to rebuild the cameras, lights, materials and render settings in RS. RS proxy file, or ORBX for octane, for example) for exchanging from DCC to DCC You'd have to use a proprietary format specific to that render engine. Third party render engine data is generally not exchangeable from DCC to DCC, nor is it generally easily convertable from one engine to another. Even if its a compatible native file (like a sketchup file, or solidworks file) when C4D does the internal file conversion, its going to strip all the Vray specific data from it. whatever file format you use for the exchange (probably FBX) isnt going to retain any of the Vray specific information anyway. If its vray for not C4D, and the original file also isnt a C4D file - it doesnt make a difference. The main reason I ask, is because I am trying to just create Redshift materials for the project, right now, but when I create the new material, I cannot edit it.In the editor, everything is grayed out.for instance, I cannot adjust the reflection on the material, as it is all grayed out. My question is this: Can I simply delete and re-create the Vray cams, lights, and materials, or is Vray somehow embedded in the file in such a manner that re-creating them still won't make a difference, and I will still have problems working with the file? Am I better off having Turbosquid do the conversion, and then re-creating cams, lights, and materials? I see that Turbosquid offers conversion of file formats, but it can take up to 3 days, and I will probably have to re-link all of the materials and replace the lights and cameras after the conversion. I do not have Vray (nor CAD, for that matter), so I'd like to convert it to Redshift.

They bought the model from Turbosquid, and its format is Vray for CAD. I have a model that I was given by a client.
